Join FBI Whistleblower Steve Friend, Fellow on Domestic Intelligence and Security Services at the Center for Renewing America, author of “True Blue,” and FBI Special Agent turned whistleblower, unveils the FBI’s questionable investigations of capitol protestors, how these tactics are not new and date back to the FBI’s origins, and what must be done to fix the FBI.
Steve Friend is an opinion writer, author, and former state and federal law enforcement officer with more than a decade of experience. He worked as a patrolman and narcotics agent in Savannah, Georgia before joining the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2014.

Steve investigated violent crimes and major offenses occurring on Indian Reservations in northeast Nebraska for seven years and was also a member of the FBI Omaha SWAT team. He transferred to Daytona Beach, Florida to investigate child exploitation and human trafficking before being reassigned to investigate domestic terrorism.

Steve is the author of “True Blue: My Journey from Beat Cop to FBI Whistleblower.” He is a 2007 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and holds a bachelor of science in accounting. Steve is a married father of two sons.

On January 1st, 2017, Mark Lamb was elected as the 24th Sheriff of Pinal County. Sheriff Lamb oversees a county the size of Connecticut and manages more than 650 employees within the department. The Sheriff’s Office operates with a $55 million dollar budget which covers all aspects of the Sheriff’s Office to include the Detention Center. The Pinal County Sheriff’s office provides patrol support throughout the county. The Pinal County Detention Center houses on average 600 inmates a day. Sheriff Lamb always says that his primary responsibility as Sheriff is to protect the people of Pinal County. Protecting the people of Pinal County has been one of Sheriff Lamb’s greatest honors.
